Aspire One 2Gb March 14, 2010 msdz (WV) Bought this RAM to improve the speed on the little netbook, this it does help. The little Aspire One with the more RAM is no great big improvement though. The 1.6Ghz Atom processor and the 8Mb dynamic video is still just a little to weak to run some games or apps smoothly or at all(this is with very few processes running as well, removed a lot of the pre-installed stuff that came with the netbook). This is of course no fault to the Crucial RAM. I am happy with the purchase even though it may sound like I am not, I knew before buying the RAM the One was not a "GAMING" computer and not to expect it to become a "GAMING" computer JUST by adding more RAM.
Installation is a snap, about 1 or 2 minutes and your done, takes longer getting the screw driver to remove the RAM compartment cover and opening the packaging the RAM came in.
Good purchase March 14, 2010 D. Brecha (Maryland) I purchased this for my Asus 1005HA netbook. It makes a noticeable difference in speed when I'm working on a lot of applications at one time. The only downside was that it didn't come with any instuctions and after I installed it it wasn't registering with my computer that additional memory had been added. I had to search the internet for a while to figure out what settings I needed to update on the netbook in order for it to recognize the additional memory. Maybe this is normal when you add memory but I'm not a computer person so this wasn't obvious to me.
Be sure to have the exactly correct Phillips Head. Then everything should go well. March 12, 2010 Howard G. Iger MD (Bloomfield, CT) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Although I believed that I had an appropriate Phillips Head screw driver set....two hours later I had not been able to open the screwed down memory cover for the upgrade.
I ended up ordering a Phillips Head Computer set from Amazon for about $10 with a 1 day delivery for another $20 plus!.... They should have included the tool with the netbook, upgrade, and cover package, and guaranteed that the screw on the cover would not be frozen.
I will try to write a followup review to let shoppers know how practical this packaged upgrade really is.
I have come to trust Amazon to always "cover all the bases" this time they delivering a problematically presented package to me, when I have come to trust that their degree of attention to detail would at least present even simple problems as a possibility and suggest solutions, ...even at extra cost, to such an issue on the main product site.
I must now tell you that after the tool kit arrived, and I called Crucial who informed me that despite the number differences, the part was correct, the operation of the Crucial/Asus 1005PE was flawless.
Good memory for Gateway netbook March 11, 2010 M. Jacks (Atlanta, GA USA) I purchased this memory for my Gateway LT2030u netbook. Even though the frontside bus speed of the Atom 1.6 Ghz processor is only 533 mhz, the 667 mhz memory works fine. I know that I won't get the benefit of the faster memory, but it was cheaper than the 533 mhz memory and it also came with a free 4 GB SDHD card! I could not find a price locally anywhere near the price Amazon wanted for it, so don't waste your time. Just buy it!
Do NOT buy with ASUS EEE 1005HA! March 11, 2010 M. Hong (Seattle, WA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this card at the same time that I bought an ASUS EEE 1005HA. 2 netbooks, 2 cards, multiple customer service and tech support calls later, I still do not have a functioning netbook. The short of it is that these cards do NOT fit well into the ASUS EEE 1005HA, and in the process of figuring that out, the cards KILLED the netbooks. I had to ship my netbook off to ASUS to have it serviced under warranty.
